Morgan Chavez-VanBemden is no stranger to the international spotlight. As a multicultural citizen, world traveler, and part-time U.S. citizenship teacher for refugees and asylees, she recognizes the critical role she plays as a global citizen and titleholder, and it is her goal to amplify her voice in the mental health community beyond the confines of the United States.

Through the Continental Worldwide pageant system, Morgan had a realization—it's not about the crown that sits on your head, it's what you do with that crown that truly matters. Pageantry changed the trajectory of her life and led her to a career in nonprofit management and education.

Morgan has dedicated her life to helping others through her grassroots work with the South Michigan Food Bank, the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Michigan United, National Alliance on Mental Illness, her nonprofit, Beyond the Battlefield, and as a full-time K-8 educator in Battle Creek, Michigan.

A graduate of Michigan State University, her passions include food justice, educational equity, and suicide prevention. As a K-8 Teacher, she would one day like to obtain her doctorate in education so she can ensure that every child, regardless of their zip code, is afforded the right to a quality education. Additionally, she looks forward to growing her nonprofit, Beyond the Battlefield.

Some of her most notable awards and achievements include a Clifford W. Beers award nomination through Mental Health America, her recognized service as a Policy Field Advocate for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP), her role as a Citizen Lobbyist with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the unique privilege to serve as an Honored Guest Speaker at the Michigan HOSA’s Med Talks along with her work in several notable publications.

Morgan encourages women looking for a pageant to compete in to explore opportunities within the Continental Worldwide pageant system. She states that it will bring out the best version of YOU while simultaneously connecting you to lifelong friends. The emphasis on making a global impact through a woman’s actions, leadership, and philanthropy are not only important characteristics of a Continental Worldwide titleholder but also of a poised woman.

In her free time, Morgan enjoys being a foster parent, gardening, traveling, teaching citizenship classes, and relaxing at home with her husband, two dogs, and foster son.
